Tue 8th Dec 2015 - 10:00pm Team News Event Articles

Our recently promoted Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team is heading of to the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham UK this weekend to compete for the £7,500 prize pool for grabs at Insomnia 56!

With currently 38 participants signed-up and a few still expected to sign-up the tournament is shaping to be a stacked one. With the traditional UK top-contenders in Infused and FM eSports together with EZskins we see 3 strong opponents looking to take the title on home soil. Next to them there are 2 more notable teams coming over from overseas as the Estonian side of OnlineBOTS and the Finnish side of ROCCAT have also confirmed their attendance and will to try and make a move for the silverware in Birmingham.

With a 4th place finish at Frag-O-Matic and a victory at The Reality last September AT CS:GO is coming in with full confidence. We asked Jasper "amosE" Koopmans of the team some questions about his expectations for this weekend.

Hi Jasper. Let's start off quickly with the question, are you looking forward to your trip to Birmingham?
"Yes, I'm really looking forward to the roadtrip with the guys. I hope we dont have too much trouble getting to the venue concidering the floods in the UK. Guess we just have to trust xilo driving us to the venue safely <3"
Is this your first LAN outside the Benelux?
"It is indeed. I'm really looking forward to the venue, I've heard it's huge and should be very nice. I think there will be more pressure, but thats something that gives me more motivation to shine! This is of course one place to show the scene what youre really made of."
What do you expect from your opponents at i56? Anyone you look forward to meeting in particular?
"I think the opposition is very good. Teams like: ROCCAT, EZskins, Infused, OnlineBOTS and FM Esports are making this a real test! The team Im looking forward to to meet the most is, EZskins. We have practiced against them online a couple of times, those were fun games. :D"
Any last messages before heading off to Birmingham?
"I want to thank all of our sponsors for making it possible for us to compete internationally. Special mention for Cooler Master lending us 5 portable PCs for the weekend to take with us to Birmingham, which has saved us from a lot of packing problems. And ofcourse don't forget to cheer for us!"
We will be present to provide you with photos and live updates throughout the weekend. Be sure to follow our Twitter and Facebook to stay up-to-date on our teams road to taking home the gold in Birmingham this weekend!
